Psalm 127:3 "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward."
The Good News Bible: Children are rewards from God, so we must follow his word to truly cherish his gifts.
Colossians 3:20 "Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord."
The Good News Bible: The Lord doesn't ask much of children, but he does ask that they listen to their parents, just as his son listened to him. Then, they will succeed in all things.
2 Timothy 3:14-15 "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."
The Good News Bible: As adults it is key to remember what we learned as children, particularly in our faith. It is in those divine teachings that we will find salvation and reignite our faith in Jesus.
Psalm 139:13-14 "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
The Good News Bible: God made us inside our mother's womb and gave us the gift of life. It's important to never forget where we came from and always give thanks.
Psalm 8:2 "Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger."
The Good News Bible: We must learn from children, who sing the Lord's praises and spread his wisdom willingly and without fear. When we do the same as adults, we will defeat our enemies, such as those who tempt us into sinning.
Isaiah 54:13 "All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children."
The Good News Bible: Teach your children God's word at a young age, and their souls will find eternal peace in heaven.
Proverbs 1:8-9 "Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck."
The Good News Bible: Children, you should pay attention to your mother and father's words because they are leading you down a righteous path and will not steer you wrong throughout your entire life.
Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
The Good News Bible: If you teach your children the ways of the Lord when they are young, they will keep their faith when they grow older.
Matthew 18:2-4 "And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, 'Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.'"
The Good News Bible: In order to have eternal life with God, we must think like children — get rid of all our possessions, hatred, and hubris. Become humble, happy, and full of love and then we will all become one with the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother' (this is the first commandment with a promise), 'that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.' Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. "
The Good News Bible: Parents, follow the word of the Lord when raising your children. Children, listen to your parents, just as Jesus followed the word of God, his father. This is the instruction of God and his will.
Mark 9:36-37 "And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, 'Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.'"
The Good News Bible: Children are gifts from God himself. We should cherish and care for them as best as we can.
Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you."
The Good News Bible: Life is short, but make them lasting and filled with love by respecting your parents and family members.
