The Village Manifesto is one of the key foundational parts of our New Life Celebration. We created the Manifesto based on what we determined were some of the most significant and important life values and characteristics. We know that the journey of life is measured by how we live in relationship with others. Our lives are never remembered for how much we have accumulated or what our academic accomplishments are. We are remembered as kind, loyal, faithful or generous. We are remembered by how we lived with and treated others.
The Village Manifesto is a tool we use to encourage family and friends (village) to commit together to model, teach and example life values and virtues. The Manifesto is presented during the ceremony in a beautiful frame, and handouts are given to the participants. Each participant is encouraged to sign the matte that surrounds the Manifesto with a word of encouragement and inspiration.
